ONE OPENING FOR THE TRIP

Unfortunately (or fortunately for them), one couple has had to drop out of MOA VI as their daughter is getting married, which will conflict with our trip.
Therefore we have one opening available.
So if you have any friends that wish to come, please let us know. (Leave a comment or email me if you have my email)

MOA Participants

We currently have 22 Morgans participating in MOA VI, with people from UK, France, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US. That is so exciting and we welcome them all. We are looking for one or two more UK/European cars to join us so we can be more efficient and cost effective for the UK Morgans.
If you haven't sent in your Registration Form, please do so today. I have most of them now, thank you.
Elaine and Ken.

PLEASE COMPLETE AND RETURN REGISTRATION FORMS

Hi All ,
So far, I have received only 1 completed Registration Form. Kindly complete them and return them. If you are sending them via snail mail, please send me an email to let me know it is "on it's way".
Once that is completed, we can get approximate pricing for shipping and insurance, and I will provide what documentation you will need for bringing your cars to the USA. The more we get done in advance, the easier it will be when we get closer. Thanks Again. Elaine

WHO IS 6269

I have had questions about "why 6269" on the logo. 6269 is Steve's Morgan's Chassis number which he also had on his license plate.
Please see below. He is very special for Morgans Over America.

We named this event the STEVE ROAKE MEMORIAL MORGANS OVER AMERICA VI for many reasons .
Steve worked closely with Jeremy Harrison on creating the route for Morgans Over America I in 1990. www.morgansoveramerica.co.uk.  Subsequently, Steve planned the wonderful routes for MOA II, III and IV. He did a superb job of including scenic routes, interesting historical sites, parties with other Morgan Clubs, making each trip unique and an awesome adventure.
He hosted us at his Dry Creek home on several of the trips.
When Ken and Elaine decided they would plan MOA VI, Elaine mentioned to Steve  that we would be doing another trip. Steve expressed that he didn't believe he would be strong enough to go. Sadly,  Steve passed away April 14, 2011 not long afterward.  At Steve's Celebration of Life, Elaine, who was the Master of Ceremonies, just felt it was the right thing to do and ended the event with the announcement that MOAVI would be in memory of Steve.
A little about Steve for those who didn't know this wonderful man:
Steve graduated from Notre Dame in 1960 with a Degree in Architecture. He worked in Manhattan for several years, moved to San Francisco, and opened his own office a few years later. Steve left his mark in San Francisco, designing award winning residential complexes. In 1979, he bought land in the Dry Creek area of Sonoma County; he designed his dream home and moved to Sonoma County in 1998.
Steve was well known and liked for his casual sense of humor, diversity of interests and his zest for life. His interest in classic cars led him to collect a number of beautiful cars which he enjoyed driving. Steve was active in many car clubs, including the Antique Automobile Car Association, Franklin Club, Kaiser-Frazer Owners' Club, International, Morgan Club, Freewheelers, Lincoln Owners Club, Antique Studebaker Club, Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) and Nor-Cal Region of the CCCA. Steve also served on the Board of Directors of both Classic Car Club of America and Nor- Cal Region CCCA. Steve toured extensively with other car enthusiasts and he hosted many tours, designing the routes and setting up the logistics for participants. Steve had the great honor of being invited to show his 1931 Studebaker President All Seasons Roadster at the Concours d'Elegance 2010 in Pebble Beach last August.
Steve was charming and talented and generous with his time and private philanthropy and enjoyed sharing his excellent culinary talents with his friends.

LOGO IS DONE

We have our MOA Logo for our T-shirts. Please note it is copyrighted.
There will be slight modifications for the badges, and for the embroidered items which require a little less detail. By wearing MOA clothing, you can reduce the amount of clothing you need to pack in your suitcase. This also gives you color combinations to work from in planning your wardrobe.

Registration Forms Have Gone Out

Registration forms have been sent to those 20 Morgan Owners who have sent in their deposits. If you submitted your deposit, but did not receive a Registration Form, please let Elaine know.
I am so excited. We ALMOST have our final logo for the trip. Just one little change needs to be done to the one above, but I couldn't wait to share it with you.
The design comes from a photo I have of Steve Roake's Morgan on one of the Morgans Over America. This represents "following Steve" which we all did so often on MOA I,II, III. Unfortunately he planned but did not attend MOA IV due to illness, and he hosted us at his home on MOA V.
This is the Rallye Plaque.
This was created by Christina Wilkinson at Sabre Designs, a company in my hometown. I hope you like it.

STILL LOOKING FOR A COUPLE MORE MORGAN'S FOR MOA VI

We have a nice group of people who have signed up for Morgan's Over America, but we still have a couple of openings for this wonderful trip. If you were "put off" before due to the waiting list, now is your chance to sign up. Please leave your email in the comments section, and I will grab it and remove it from the blog immediately.

A FEW OPENINGS FOR REGISTRATION FOR MOAVI

We continue with a few openings for Morgans Over America VI which will start September 10, 2015 in Savannah Georgia and finish 40 days later in Norfolk, VA. If you are interested, please leave a comment below and we will get in touch with you. We have heard that people did not put themselves on the list because at the time, there were no openings. Deposits ($1000) must be received by April 30, 2014 for you to be included on the trip

Much of the trip is following important places from the US Civil War as well as seeing the beauty in these areas.
Some of the places we will visit include Savannah Georgia, Charleston SC, Blue Ridge Mountains, Watkins Glen NY, Ottawa Canada, Quebec City Canada, many towns in New Brunswick Canada, Prince Edward Island Canada, then head down back to the US during the fall colors through  Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Boston Massachusetts, Newport Rhode Island, Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and Williamsburg Virginia, finishing up in Norfolk, Virginia. Most days travel range from 100-200 miles although there are some less and a couple more.  US travel is not particularly conducive to staying somewhere and going out and returning the same day. Where that situation exists, we have scheduled 2 or more nights.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Update on Deposits

Elaine has emailed the bank information for transferring the MOAVI deposits to those who have responded that they wish to attend MOAVI. There are a few people on the list whom I have not heard back from yet, so don't know their status.
We will have participants from UK, France, Sweden, US, Canada, Australia, and the Kiwi's are thinking about it waiting for shipping information.
Some of the participants are prior MOAer's, MONZA participants and some new to the group. We welcome the new people to the group, as well as those of us who have travelled together.
Ken and I will come up with a timeline as to when information will be available on shipping, insurance, hotels, regalia, deposits and any other information you will need.
We are getting excited about the trip.

DEPOSITS NEEDED TO RESERVE YOUR SPACE

We have sent out notices to people on the MAIN list asking if they are still interested in MOA VI  OR NOT, and deposits are due.
If you thought you were on the MAIN LIST and you didn't receive a recent email from Elaine, please let me know (either email, or comment below)
Once we have heard back from the MAIN LIST people, and if we have not met our 25 car goal, we will contact those on the waiting list, and those who have recently expressed interest.
By April 30, 2014 we will have our group that will be going on MOAVI, the entire route.
We are so looking forward to this amazing trip.
